I bought a 1990 Cobia Spirit 180svr. 3.0 mercruiser. The PO couldn't get it to run right, and top speed was 28mph. After taking everything apart and cleaning everything from the carb to all the nuts and fasteners, it ended up being a faulty plug wire. With the new set on, it runs 38mph at 4800rpm's.
My new wire set is for this motor, and engine. It goes on the plugs GREAT, but on the distributer, not so great. In fact, it's not the "distributer" like I know a carbed engine to have. And I can't see on my prop what size it is. I can't seem to find an owners manuel that would tell me what ignition set up I have, and what prop came stock with the boat. the prop seems to have the same wear on it as the rest of the outdrive, so I'm assuming it's stock.
