if it's pre '73, it may be hard to id unless someone knows it. if it's '73 or after it'll have a hin (hull identification number) on it. usually located on the starboard side, high on the transom just under the rubrail. it may also appear in other places. my '75 has it stamped into the hull dead center above the drive. the last two digits will be the year of mfg.

Welcome aboard! Should post some pictures of the whole boat from the side. Will make an approximate ID much easier. At least for a model ID.

If you have a title it should say there.

You might check out the on-line glasspar owners association at http://www.classicglasspars.com/ They have photos of most if not all of the years for each model. They also have a forum, but there's a yearly signup fee. You won't get a large body of general knowledge on that forum like you do with this one, but you can ask Glasspar-specific questions.

Welcome to the forum. The members here are great and the experts, which I am not, can help you with any problem. Deja vu' all over again for me because your boat looks identical to my Dad's 1960 Glasspar Avalon which I later inherited and had a lot of fun with our family. However, the Lido model looked the same only it was two feet shorter. Check the CL length and if it is 15.5-16ft, then I'm pretty sure it's an Avalon standard model as opposed to a deluxe model. The Lido also had different models. The difference was in the cockpit layout. The standard model had bench seats mounted to the fiberglass tabs and no splashwell. The deluxe versions had molded fiberglass seatbacks and a splashwell that was all part of the the one-piece "cap". I think Glasspar offered these models virtually unchanged from 1955-1962, and maybe longer but I'm not certain. Good luck with that great old boat!

Just a thought, It won't get you the year but might narrow it down some. Look at the tail light lenses, there may be a date molded into them. If they are original it might get you close. (btw, nice looking boat, I love clasic boats)

Looks almost like my 1956 Sport lido, they offered the sport and the standard for a few years, the sport had the golden emblem on the dash, the standard has no golden emblem, but does have the glasspar plate as shown in your picture. If it is longer than 14 feet it is probably the Avalon.

Hi JTG. Cool lookin' new toy. You've got the Florida Cracker trifecta of toys: RV, airboat, runabout. I'm totally jealous!!! I love the light pockets on the fender too! '59 sounds about right by the looks of her, but check out fiberglassics.com you may be able to find a bit more info there, although it may be tricky to find ID numbers on boats pre mid 70's per the previous post. Happy boating!

P.S.
Where in FL are you? I'm in Tallahassee. Go Noles!!!

Orlando area. GO BUCKEYE'S........All the toys in the background are not mine, but the gentlemen I bought the boat from. He had two RV's, two air boats, runabout, 4 jet skies, Name it he had it. It does have a ID number on it. It does look like a Lido, But the title says model: LRN.......

I would not worry to much about what the title says, I have owned several boats and unfortunately, the state often times screws up the model name when they issue a title, seems their computer database and the real world don't match up so great sometimes.
