Hi guys,

I posted here a couple months ago regarding my brand new Evinrude Etec motor stalling out every time I put it in gear. So I took it in (for the third time) and they finally found out it was a software update that was causing the stalling. So they "fixed" the stalling and now the boat runs, however, it's not running very smoothly at low speeds. As soon as I throttle it all the way it smooths out and feels fine but at low speeds It feels like it "putts" or bogs...not smooth at all. Being a new boat I would expect it to run silky smooth. I'm not sure if this is normal for a brand new motor. Is this something I should take it in to get checked out? I'm worried that maybe the shop tried to just put a band-aid fix over a more serious underlying problem that I took it in for in the beginning (regarding the stalling).

Also, being that I've had to take it in to this shop three times already I don't want to take it there again unless I have to because obviously they're not that good at what they do. Can I get the boat serviced at another shop even though I didn't buy the boat/motor from them?

I'm really hoping they didn't sell me a lemon.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Tai.
