Can't wait.

Last year(july) bought an '82 Celebrity with under 100 hours on it. 5.0L with OMC outdrive I got to take it out once last year to see what all it needed.

I will pick it up from the shop saturday, it got a new impeller, new rubber boot, tune up and new belts.

Saturday afternoon it will get a dip in the river to make sure every thing is running good, and then our first weekend trip to mark twain lake in MO to play for a couple days!

My first couple trips will be to mark twain lake because my aunt/uncle live only 5 minutes from the campsite, so if I have trouble I have someone local I can call... then it's off to explore the rest of the local lakes.

Will let ya'll know how it goes. When I bought the boat I was nervous as could be about going out for the first time, but after reeding all the posts on here in the last year, I'm pretty confident everything will go just fine.

....remember plug...remember plug...remember plug.....

Well best of luck to you!! I bought a '91 stratos 290 S/F last october and took it to Mark Twain 3 weeks ago. For the most part, the lake is pretty deep except around points so stay in the middle. Watch your points and stay in the middle of the lake. Some of the points get shallow really fast so keep one eye on your depth finder as the lake level was down alittle when I was there. They have had alot of rain lately so it will probably be alot better.

We found a nice 4 lane ramp to put in at and had lunch at Indian Creek Marina then cruised the lake some more.Good lake for your first voyage.

Best of Luck!!

By the way "Remember the plug"The best way to remember the plug is to put some piano wire around it and let it hang near the back of the boat when not in use. CC

Ndemge
Try and be prepared and have lots of fun. I probably would not have suggested this weekend for first trip as will be very busy. I would recomend a Coast Guard aux "Boating Skills and Seamanship" Class. Take the whole family it is cheap and fun. Will learn a lot first time.
Be safe and have fun.
