For those who did not know, today was the official openning of the new 35W bridge that collapsed into the Mississippi 13 months ago.

While this may seem like just a bridge openning, many inlcuding myself pause to think about the ones who were in the wrong place that day and also reflect on how many times I crossed that bridge and how it could have been me, my family members or the people I work with ( I work downtown and am was sure someone I knew was in the wreckage). I know I will think about it every time I do cross that bridge starting tomorrow.

On another note, I am amazed at the speed that this bridge was built. It just goes to show what can be done when people pull together to get something done.

Here is a picture of the new bridge shortly after openning this morning.

Great news for the Twin Cities. Insert moment of silence for those lost that day:(.................. Almost look like a piece of art in the pics.

I sure hope that MN-DOT learned their lesson. I have a feeling-NO.

Instead of the "pull your pants up and sniff", org. (Barney Fife) I knew, they might actually may be looking at bridges, instead of "rubber stamping" them.

Good luck. Youi're in a high tax state that would rather feed the "I don't give a (*&*^) to actually making your roadways safe. Not to mention, where are your road tax $$$ going. You're in the top three for road taxes (0.48-per gallon). I GUESS, NOT TO BRIDGES.

I'm glad they got it open. The government's complete disregard is something we will never see them pay for.

But, you'll elect more "government".

I spent eight years there. The one thing I don't miss is the "governent".
