Replacing my bunks as we speak. I just don't know how to finish off the ends. I left lots so have room to cut. Anyone have any ideas on folding over or how to cut to finish nice.
Anyone come across some pics?

Thanks guys

Re: New Bunk Ends

It looks as if the bunks in the video, are "standing on edge" I replaced my bunks and installed the carpet. Mine lay on a
slight angle, but flat, so the carpet end would be stapled on the flat side bottom, ( the 3-1/2" width, not the 1-1/2" side. )
If your wood is in good shape, be sure to mark what bunk goes where, and front to back. If these are bolted through the bunks,
you need to mark, or you will have a problem matching existing bunk support brackets.
I measured the holes from the end to hole center and then when carpet covers holes, you can locate with awl ( ice pic) to poke hole through carpet to install bolts. Note: Mine were through bolted. You probably dont have to locate hole if using lag bolt, unless you need to line up bracket in same location.
As far as the end wrap. I cut mine 6" longer on the flat side, folded in the sides, then overlap the flat to create extra
padding at the end.

I cut notches and essentially made a tongue of sorts that I pulled back and stapled underneath. Then I sandwiched those flaps between the bunk and the mount.

Re: New Bunk Ends

I just folded mine like wrapping a present. The staples weren't long enough for the multiple layers, so I use a few galvanized roofing nails for the ends.
