New coils new plugs wire lots of arc-ing

New coils, new plugs wire, lots of arc-ing coming out of the plug boot going down the plug. The new coils came with the new wires and spring clip type connection for the spark plugs with new boots. The connection of theses clips and plugs don't seem very good kind of loose, also when I touch the wires they don't seem insulated very well for new wires. Any suggestions? 74 40 hp evinrude.

If the connector to the plug isn't right , that spark has to go somewhere.
Can you pull the rubber boot back to make sure the wires goes on the plug properly.

Correct plugs ? UL81C (although originally UL4J)

Correct gap? 0.030"

Plug insulator clean and dry?

She running good now, did away with these new heli coil type plug connectors and boots that were supplied with the new coils purchased. Went to Napa auto picked up some new standard plug clips and nice insulated boots the orange ones. You can grab on to these and theres no shock. Thanks for everybody body thoughts.
