I have a new pontoon boat & engine on order and<br />would like any advice on break-in of a 115HP<br />Honda four stroke. Thanks

they tell you on your site, also when your motor comes there is a thing on it that tells you what to do :)

Welcome to the best board on boats :D <br /><br />Your dealer should explain the break-in procedure when you take delivery plus the owners manual will also give you a guide too.<br /><br />I took delivery of a new pontoon with Mercury 4 stroke this year. I followed the break-in to the letter except for one thing. The manual says the oil & filter does not need to be changed until 100 hours. That's equivalent to 10,000 km/mi in a car and far too long in my book. I changed both oil & filter at 20 hours and plan to do it again every 50 hours or once a season, whichever comes first.<br />Hope that helps and enjoy your new boat.<br />Peter

I just purchased a Honda 50hp and am in the middle of break in. The dealer and the manual both suggest changing both engine and lower unit oil at 20 hrs. A break-in schedule is included in the manual and your dealer will/should give you suggestions on doing it right. You are going to love that Honda. Have fun
