i have a new 5.2 horizion mercruiser 2006 engine , in a 97 model boat, with analog gauges. I get a warning beep, actually two in a row, every few minutes. this happens with and without the lower unit resivor sensor plugged in. motor distributor says as long as i have good oil pressure and ok water temp, nothing to worry about. but i still think it should nt be there. any clue as to what this is signaling? I have smartcraft gauges coming in a week, should give me more info
thanks

You shouldn't have alarms going off like that. I assume you are talking about the 6.2L not a 5.2. Anyway, got a SN for the engine?

It is Actually a 383 mpi motor, from mercury rebuild, a 2006 bobtail. sometimes the beep becomes a solid beep under acceleration. could this be a low fuel pressure warning? I will get the SN for you don,, thanks

The 383 is the 6.2.

So, what is it, a Mercury rebuild, or new bobtail?

Not sure what the beeping is. Merc doesn't like to make it obvious to techs what the beeps indicate, and don't put it in the service manual anywhere.
Did you get an owners manual with the engine? It should have what the different beeps mean.
