I just bought a 1988 Reinell 191ST inboard with a blown up 4.3 litre v-6. I replaced the engine and tried to start it up. It fired right up but as soon as I released the key from the start position to the on position the boat would die. I found a 30 amp fuse on the kill switch was blown and replaced it with a 10 amp fuse (I didn't know if the 30 amp fuse was too big) and it blew the 10 amp fuse.I don't have a schematic and it's an in-line fuse. Should I put the 30 amp fuse in and try again or can you tell me where I might have another problem. The guy I bought the boat from was on the lake last August with his 2 small grand daughters. I think when the engine froze up he really panicked and tried to turn the engine over until he blew the 30 amp fuse. Any Ideas?......Thanks for looking

guessing carb'd V6.

Depends on what motor as SD mentioned, but also what fuse. The normal ignition fuse os 20 amps, so if 30 is blowing, then there is something else wrong
