We bought a 1995 Regal 202 SC Valenti. It is our first boat. We are a family of four, children ages 6 and 15 months. It will be used on Lake Raystown in PA. I liked the cuddy for the kids, it gives them a place to get out of the sun and play or lay down. The boat is in good condition. The cusions in the cuddy need to be cleaned, but are in good shape. The seats and side panels are in good shape, no rips or tears. The carpet shows a little wear, but is good condition. Hobbs meter shows 143 hours. The exterior has a couple of dings and scuffs consistant with the age of the boat. It needs to be compounded, polished, and waxed. I tried a couple of spots and it comes up nice. The engine is in good shape. All belts and hoses are in good condition. The oil has some time on it but is clean. It starts right up and has no abnormal vibrations (actually smoother than I expected.) The hull is solid (I coundn't find any rot, anywhere.) I think this boat will be a good fit for our family. I can't find much info on the Regal 202 SC Valenti, did they not build many of this model? All of the info I have read on Regal indicates they build a good boat. The fit and finish on this boat appears to be good. Please let me know your thoughts, model specific things to check, ext...

Thank you,
Paul

I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Re: New Family Boat

Hi .....welcome to iboats !

It sounds like the family is going to have great fun on the boat !

What is the engine size and out drive.?

I have repaired regals,,,,for the most part, they are great boats.
The main thing is maintnence.
There is no such thing as a bad boat....just a bad owner....so the condition of the boat is always reflective of the owners care.

After we find the motor drive combo/ we can guide you on what to check for.
Im not personally familiar with the Valenti, but as stated...for the most part, regals are good boats.

cheers....and again, welcome

You will enjoy the boat, especially up by the dam. Used to put in at 7 points.

I guess that would mean that you put the dam boat in at 7 points. I crack myself up.

Re: New Family Boat

Welcome. I made my first trip out to raystown this past season and was immediately hooked. Went back another two times. Can't wait for next season!
