Need a little advice. From reading some of the posts here, I think I want to use exterior grade plywood (not marine or treated). I also think I need to apply some sort of coating. Can anyone recommend what type of coating to use. Is the fiberglass resin stuff you see at most marine stores ok. I have used this in the past to patch holes on fiberglass boats....seems like you mix it with a hardener, and roll it over mesh tape...etc Or am I way of base?? I have heard the word epoxy used....is this the same?? Also, what exactly constitutes "exterior grade plywood"<br />Thanks for any advice..

I do not know, but I would assume that a exterior grade ply wood would be treated? If not than I would definetly use 3/4" treated CDX ($20/sheet). That is what I have always used. It seems to hold up just fine too.

If you want it to last, coat it with resin, no mat or cloth needed. Check rotdoctor.com. They make some stuff called CPES that would work great in your application.
