I'm in the middle of redoing a 1985 thundercraft magnum 230. The boat is extremly deep and the previous owner let it sit over winter with a damaged cover alowing water to get in. Luckily the boat is so deep the damage is only down the centre 2-1/2' of the boat which consists of two bulkheads at each end of fuel tank, floor in storage area above tank and small floor in cuddy and stringer under cuddy floor(3' by 5"). The rest of the boat is solid and appears to have no damage at all. I will be using marine plywood and epoxy then applying an antiskid coating to the deck. The repairs look pretty straight forward but I have no idea how much epoxy it will take? How much would it take for two coats on a sheet of plywood and what kind of fiberglass cloth should I use? Does anyone have any experience with the deck coatings? So far I have found sanitred and durabak they are along the lines of a truck bedliner but are said to also be for marine applications. Any thoughts? Also I am from ontario and cannot seem to find suppliers for the epoxy or deck coating here can anyone help? Sorry for being long winded but want to make sure I do this right the first time.
