I'm not getting any fuel to the carburetor. I replaced the mechanical fuel pump, water separator and there's no change. I thought maybe it was the anti-siphon valve in the gas tank, but I don't think it is. I bypassed the gas tank with a remote tank and still nothing, there's no pumping of fuel. I was wondering if the push rod for the fuel pump can go bad, maybe mines broke or cracked. That about the only thing I can think of, unless the new pumps bad too, which I doubt. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

my boat is older and it has a filter right before it goes into the carb you could have blockage there. im no marine mechanic thats just a possibility.

The fuel pump lever should be acutated by a concentric cam on the snout of the crankshaft. You could pull your fuel pump and look in with a lite as you manually rotate your crankshaft. I don't think that is a likely posibility though. Is your fuel filter between the pump and the gas tank? You need to fill the filter with gasoline. Also, disconnect the fuel line, at the carb and crank the motor. Be carefull not to spray gas all over every thing.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. There is a push rod that runs off the cam as mentioned, that operates the fuel pump. The push rod is definitely there,I had to push it up to get the fuel pump on,it was kind of a bear to get the new pump on. There is a fuel filter water separator just before the fuel pump that I replaced. I didn't realize it had to be full of gas.I replaced it before without filling it with gas and had no problems, but maybe it does need to be primed.
Thanks again for the replies,I really do appreciate it.
Joe
