New Guy Water IN boat questions

I just bought a boat. I find water in the gas tank well ( lowest spot) about a gal even after I bail it out. But never seems to get to be more than that.Was told that all boats have a little water but ????? ALSO the guy I bought the boat from was putting in the plug from the outside of the boat. Is that right? Thanks

Some have outside and some have inside.

What type of boat is it? Bass? Flatbottom? Deep v?

I agree, the more info the better, mine is on the outside also but its a screw in type not a push plug
