Boat a polar kraft last year at the start of covid. Took it out twice after the lakes opened. 15 foot boat with a 1999 Force by Mercury Pro Series 40 hp motor. Max RPM is 5250. Anyhow, the prop that is on it has a pretty decent chunk missing and I want to replace the prop. I have no idea what to buy. Boat runs great but the motor shakes a bit when trolling and I suspect it's the prop. Serial # is OE353712. Pitch, Rotation , Spline, Cupping? I have no idea what any of this means and could use some help. Thanks in advance. I want to fish, damnit.

Have a prop shop fix / rebuild the prop, put it back on and go fishing. The repair is usually cheaper than buying a new prop.

Here is the prop selector for merc that can help you. https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/propellers/selector/#!/step-one

As mentioned you can get it fixed either locally or on line via mail like at prop MD. But id doesnt hurt to have a spare in case you hit something while out on the water

there should be marking on your existing prop on the side of hub or just behind the prop nut. Usually behind the prop nut you will see two number like 13 x 15p id the diameter and pitch.

Is max 5200 rpm what the motor achieved at wot or it's the Max Wot rpm range which are two different scenarios.
