Hello,
Just got my first boat, 87 glasstream 182 caravelle. Boat has a 3.0 mercruiser and alpha one outdrive. Im tryin to fix up, the last time it was registered was 10 years ago. Guy i bought it from had done some of the work already, he says it has a new motor and outdrive??? Doubt it. He says after putting it in he put it on the water he road ten min or so and then put it in neutral to go to reverse and it died. He says he took it home and determined it needed a ignition coil cause it had no fire and there was pulse at the coil. Im tryin to figure out what year this thing is but not sure. I have read diffrent threads about this but the serial number i guess rusted off cause thers nothing there. How can i determine year of motor?
