New Impeller direction - clockwise / anticlockwise?

This may sound like a daft question to those more experienced among you but i am just putting a new Impeller and housing in my 40hp Evinrude and am following the manual - all ok so far but which direction does the impeller fit into the housing ie spiraling clockwise or anticlockwise? the manual just says fit impeller.

I assume whichever way i insert it it will just rotate on the shaft to the direction of turn however if i have learned one thing over the years it is never assume anything. Any one able to help? Thanks

With the impeller in place on the shaft, lubricate the inside of the housing with any kind of liquid soap and push the housing down over the impeller as you twist the driveshaft clockwise looking down.
