So every year seems to be new and different issues with my boat Motor and drive this year, I figured at the end of last year everything finally working had to put it up for the winter now just go to put it in the water for the first time this year, checked the drive oil and it was empty. I put some in from the bottom and it starts leaking from the lower drive. I have attached a picture. I go online and see the lower unit is very expensive. I was looking to see if anyone knows an other routes I can take to get cost down on this new issue.

You can get that welded. How much for taking it all apart and the weld, I have no idea. May be cheaper to find a trashed (gears) lower and swap parts.

Where would be a good spot to look for a trashed no gears. I can only find them on ebay but they are remanufactured and are like $2500+

You'll have to watch ebay and craigslist. I just saw a 30 hour drive with trashed gears for 500.00

Where you located Ivan? I can help you out if you are relatively close to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
