Put the key in, turn to on...then crank.

solid BEEEEEEEEEEEP....

doesn't go away until I turn the key off.

Motor starts and runs fine. Timing is set, air fuel mixture is right...

temp comes up and levels off in the 160-170 range. oil pressure was high then as the motor warmed up came down.

I killed the motor after warm up, started right back up but the alarm is still there.....

Any ideas where to start looking?

TIA

Oil pressure switch bad/not hooked up or drive oil low/switch not hooked up or bad. That would be my 1st 2 checks...

There are only 3 things that will cause a continuous alarm is over temp, low oil pressure, or low gear lube.
To isolate, disconnect the alarm switches (not the gauge senders, different items) one at a time till you find which one is causing the alarm. Then, replace the switch.

Re: new long block...4.3...alarm????

it was about a qt low on oil. After the initial start up, I'm assuming it filled the oil galleries, filter and and all...

Dip stick showed just below the "add" mark and I added to the "full" mark and the alarm stopped.

Thanks Yall!
