Just picked up a nice 2001 Lowe trinidad 204 fishing pontoon today. it's actually my first boat ever. Looking for a manual for the boat if anyone knows where to get a copy. my local Lowe dealer says he can't get them anymore.

Stop looking. Even if you found one it would likely not contain what you are looking for. Boats are not like cars. The "User" manual contains very basic safety stuff and generally nothing else. If it has a radio, the radio manufacturers manual would have been in the original literature pack. Same for other accessories. Nothing on a boat is so complicated you cannot figure it out by looking at it. Switches should be self explanatory. For the engine you can obtain the engine manufacturers "Service" as well as "User" manuals. They contain the information needed to work on and operate the engine.

If you get a manual get one for your motor. Also light, gauge and ignition wiring diagrams are available online.

Yup, boat company's are way to small to have manuals like a car does.
Normally all you get with a new boat is the paperwork for the stereo ect.

Like Silvertip said, nothing real technical, but get to know the boat and where everything is before you go out

Look up a boater safety coarse in your area, the water is a totally different deal than the road.

Boats and cars have steering wheels and burn gas, similarities end there
