HEY GANG,
I am a new toon owner and bought a 2010 Manitou Oasis with a 2011 Suzuki 70 Fuel Injected outboard. Everything is great on the toon with the exception of a few stains on the carpet and couple rips in a seat or two. Other than that I can't complain considering I only gave $5000 for the boat and motor. Well, my excitement to own a toon is like no other but I bought it late in the season and only got to take it out one day. Now is the question of winterizing??
I do have a warehouse to keep it out of the weather and I do have a cover over it. What else do I need to do?
Battery has been pulled out
Entire toon has been cleaned and detailed
What about the engine? I let it run about 3 seconds out of the water to spit out the excess but do I need to do anything else to it? I am in TN and the winter generally ranges about 20-40 degrees depending on the day. Thanks in advance.

Change the oil, change the oil filter. Fog the engine, change the plugs, Drain and refill lower unit with proper grease, Leave OB in down position. Lucky to have an inside storage for it. Treat any left over gas in the tank. NEVER run out of the water unless you have the engine connected to water. Not for any amount of time. Water will drain naturally.

+1 ^^^ It takes no time to damage the impeller for the water pump w/o water running. If you think critters may be a problem, consider using some moth balls, drier sheets, ect. around the inside. They love to chew on wiring and generally make a mess of things. Good luck !!!

Unable to edit post, but wanted to add, take 30 min. or so to go around the boat w/ a screw driver & wrench re-tightening things. Hinges for seat cushions, helm chair base, side panels where they meet the deck, cleat backing plates ect. I usually do this twice a year and find approx. 20% of everything I put a wrench on needs re-tightening. Also give all the vinyl a good coating of 303 aerospace protectant. It's more expensive than the others, but worth it. good luck !!!
