I purchased one of the New Minn Kota "Edge" Trolling motors. It is a 70lb thrust foot control. I have it on a 16 x 48 aluminum boat. I know this is a large motor for this boat but I fish in swift current. Anyway, I think they may have made a mistake when they designed the speeds on this particular model. It has 5 speeds, it is not the variable. The problem is speeds 1-4 are relatively close together in terms of power but 5 is just way too much. Its like there is WAY TOO MUCH difference in 4 and 5. On speed 4 it pushes the boat fairly good but on 5 it will literaly throw you out of the boat. I am very unhappy with this. Is there anything I can do?? I had a Minn Kota with the variable speed and loved it but this one just has too much of a gap between speeds 4 and 5. Its like on speed 4 there is about 40 pounds of thrust and 5 is 70?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated....Thanks
