Hey Guys,

Well I am a newbie to iBoats and boating in general as most of you know from some of the threads I have posted LOL. I wanted to introduce myself and see if there are any other car guys out there!

I purchased a 1987 Chris Craft AmeroSport 284 with Twin 305s and OMC Cobra Outdrives. I plan on doing some restoration work to her this winter with some upgrades so I will be relying heavily on iBoats and it's members!! It's extremely mechanically sound though.

For my hobbies, I have always been huge into sports cars and diesel trucks. For my daily job I work on computers all day- I don't want to bore you with to much technical jargon but I manage VMWare farms, Hyper-V Farms, Our data center, and support around 34,000 employees. Of course you can guess Computers are my other hobby/career. (Let me know if you guys need any computer help!!)

I'm not sure if anybody on here is huge into cars like I am but I figure I would post some specs of mine and pictures and maybe if there are some people here that big car guys, I can see some of you're rides!!:D

I have a 2005 Mustang GT that I have done the following too: (All work has been performed by myself)

471HP to the wheels/421 Ft. Lbs. of Torque
Vortech V3 Supercharger running @ 12 Pounds of boost
6 Speed Manual Transmission- Viper Spec T6060 (Converted from stock 5 speed manual)
Alky-Control Methanol Injection - Straight methanol, not a combo water mix.
Steeda Short Throw Shifter
Battery Trunk Re-location
Shelby Gauge POD
Mach Style Hood
Saleen Heritage Rear Bumper
American Racing Rims
Nitto Invo's - Front Tires
Nitto NT05R Drag Radials
Edelbrock Mufflers w/ Saleen Heritage Tips
Kenwood Head unit, MB Quartz Speakers x 4, 2 Alpine Type E Subs 10', JL AMP
Steeda Ultra-lite springs (lowered)
Tokico Struts and Shocks
and a few others things....!

Welcome aboard. I'm sure your help will be needed in the nothing to do with boats section. I use to be into sports cars years ago. Started a family and after a few years, wife and kids just didn't enjoy it as much as I did. I grew up on the Ohio river and we always had boats. Out of high school I joined the Navy and that is when I got into sports cars. So when I went back to boating, my experience on the river came in handy. Now the kids are all grown and I'm still boating. Again welcome aboard............SS

Yup, welcome aboard.

You will also find many Ford fans here as you have seen and the Ford vs Chevy debates get just as heated as oil threads.

BTW we are fairly close .....less than 2 hours away. Please tell me you visit Villa Italia in Schnecady ;) Wow they have great Italian pastry.

I am also a Ford nut. I have an 89 5.0 LX 5 spd all original with only 100,000 miles on the clock. My father in law owns a restoration shop and is also a Ford nut-He is currently building my wife a 65 fastback with FI 5.0 and T-5 tranny.

Welcome ... more into GM cars than those stinkin' blue ovals! LOL! Not so big into the customizing, more of a pure stock guy. Grew up in a GM dealership, that might have something to do with it ...

Boats and cars, doesn't get much better ... welcome aboard!

That's awesome!!!! Post some pics if you get a chance too.. I would love to see them, I am sure that 65 fast back is going to be sweet as well, I was always a huge fan of the older cars

LOL!! I have no problems with a pure stock car at all- especially if it's an older STOCK car, they are worth a lot of money these days... I like the older GMs as well, Oldsmobile 442 and Chevy Nova! You're right, what more does a person need then boats and cars LOL- and of course a wonderful fiance to support you're bad habits LOL.

Thanks!! Unfortunately, I have OMC Motors for the boat.. I have heard they can be a real pain when they break but it's all about the shift cable and how you fill it!

I started off into cars, but always loved boats. I too have a Mustang, put some time and effort to get it looking decent, and like to run the car at the race track (drag strip, Etown, NED, LVD, etc...).

Thanks. I have heard of the DSM club here, they have a lot of real quick cars. The dyno I used to go to was in the building the DSM guys worked at.

Theres a track rental happening in a week or two that my club got the ok to join in, but I'm dealing with some electrical gremlins on the car and it has spent more time covered in the garage than out and about.
