Hello guys, I'm a fairly new member and I really need some help. I've used the search engine and I can't seem to find out where my temp sensor is located on my 1999 mercury 90 hp outboard. I know there are several post on high temp alarm but I can't find my answer. I went out yesterday and my high temp alarm came on during heading out. I have great water coming out and my motor runs great (knock on wood!) but the darn high pitched alarm stays on constantly. Oil is good. So this morning as soon as I turn the ignition on the same high pitch alarm stays on so I know my motor isn't hot. What do you guys think. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I think it may be a faulty temp sensor or the alarm module..I just don't know where and what the temp sensor looks like. Thank you and god bless

The sensor has a tan wire attached. Pull the wire from the first bayonet connector junction up the wiring harness. If the alarm quits your sensor is shorted. If not you have a short in your wiring between the horn low side and ground...battery -....engine block.
