My wife and I live about a mile from the Potomac & Shenandoah rivers here in WV and have been throwing the idea around about getting a small run about for a while. This was a 1 owner, barn stored lake boat. It cleaned up pretty good, has a West Bend 40 HP Golden Shark engine, that turns over with great compression and was said to be running a few years ago, and is sitting on an old style boat trailer that has coil springs and small VW beetle size shocks.

Anyway, I am trying to find out the exact model and year of it. Is a 14' MFG "tape measure from the front to the engine", the dash has a center mounted, alloy lid covered compartment and the steering wheel says custom. I looked at all of the pictures and brochure info I could find on MFG but didn't see this model listed, unless I just missed it.

My plans for the boat once I make sure I can get it registered properly include replacing the entire steering cable setup with a new kit, giving the old West Bend 40 a complete once over, or find a newer replacement, all new interior in the boat itself including the floor, paint and last but not least new bushings in the trailer or find a newer trailer all together!

Thanks for having me and any info you can give us on our new boat project! Matt

I think it might actually be a 1966 Niagra?

I don't know what it is... But I love it!.. what an awesome find! and that motor is awesome!

You might double check your stringers and especially the transom for signs of rot, looseness or wiggle... the boat is gutted already, replacing the transom would be relatively easy at this point... (check out other transom replacements in the restoration category)

Congrats on the find and welcome to the forums!
