hello, i recently purchased my first boat. 1988 bayliner capri 15 ft with force 50 outboard. that is pretty much all i know, it need windshield and other glass, seats, keys. any helpful information regarding this model is appreciated, thanks.

if someone could help me out with what this is called i would greatly appreciate it.
need a pin that holds the motor in place once in the water. outboard has no tilt/trim feature, sorry dont know what its called that it has, power lift??? anyways i need the pin that holds the outboard in place once you lower it after trailering.
anyone know what this is called and where i may be able to find one??

It is called the tilt pin. It sets the attitude of the engine while the boat is running. It should be set so the cavitation plate is as close to parallel with the bottom of the boat as possible.They can be found at the Mercury dealer, but really, you would be better off buying a length of 3/8 or 7/16-- Measure the holes---diameter stainless steel rod at a local machine shop or welding shop. Cut it a little longer than you need and put a stainless collar on each end to hold it. Or ask them to drill a hole for a cotter pin. Probably costs less than the original.
