Sorry I don't have any pics up for it but I traded the 7.5 for a JOHNSON 15 on my 12ft Saturn mini cat. I can only imagine that that motor can have me pushing 20mph? Any opinions? Hope to have pics up soon and the first outing will be either next Wednesday or Thursday on lake Waccamaw, nc. The motor is much newer and nicer and has the newer gas tank instead of that old powder keg pressurized metal tank. Will get pics and videos up when we go out next week.

ha, ha,
way back when I read your "Hypothetical Question"
thread and looked at all of the motors that guy was selling,
my thought was "get the 15 HP" (as long as your boat is rated for something that powerful)
figuring you never said anything about anything more
powerful than 10 HP, I figured I'd just lurk back through it
later on to see what you ended finding that works

'been running an old obsolete 18 HP Evinrude on my 365 class China-SIB
and it totally rock, particularly for under $250.
But as the hull was derated to 10 HP when the 4-stroke motor restrictions
kicked in in the States and Canada / by the time I bought it ( perviously it
was rated for 15 HP, probably still is in China and other markets), I figured
I would pick up an obsolete 10 HP OMC and see how that works out.

I'm curious to hear what you have to say about your new 15 HP motor.
It will be another week or two before I get out with my 10 HP, but when I
do, I will post back with my opinion.

If by obsolete you mean 2 strokes engines. Newer OMC 9.9-15 HP weights same, go for a 15 HP instead.

Happy Boating

If you want a good laugh. I have been looking for a 2 stroke 9.9 Weemed has been a great help. Yesterday I finally got my hands on a almost new 9.9 Coleman. As soon as the guy selling the motor told me how much it weighed I knew why he was selling it. The motor was 114 lbs. I was expecting 85lbs. 114 pounds is a bit much for somebody with an AARP card to be trying to lug around
