Were they in a haystack, like whatever you are talking about???

It really only takes a few more seconds to make clear and really improves the probability that you will get help.

It looks like you got a 95 150hp from your post and yes I have seen the Sierra needles swell and stick, that reason I use OEM kits only as I have had to many problem with Sierra kits(thin gaskets, gaskets swelling and warp, needles bad)

Re: New needles sticking???

Guess i used bad kits
I found 3 needles sticking. Could have been worse. I feared a timer base or pack....... Going out tomorrow to test.
Anyone know where to find metal bowls? My dealer says not made for this motor E 150 ELEOM 1995 150 HP Evinrude
So, i was bummed when i first posted and sorry......

( jonesg knew it was carb needles, jb;) )

Relieved, i guess, that others have seen this. I think I will stay OEM parts from now on. I don't want cheap parts too deep in this motor.
I like this forum and was doing my part to support it by using it for parts as well as the wealth of info;)

Re: New needles sticking???

its not just the sierra kits, its the oem stuff too, i had a 15 minute conversation with the product manager of Bombardier the other day about it. The needles have a black rubber tip, big no no. but the manufacturer says they work fine, i have proved many times that they dont, i ordered a stock of the old school stainless tip needles and use those with the new carb kits. the ethanol fuel eats into those black tips with the quickness.
