New owner question

I recently purchased a 1985 wellcraft 170 American boat, It’s equipped with a 3.0 140 mercruiser engine. I can’t seem the find throttle only function on it. It has no button and the controller doesn’t seem to pull out. I included a picture of the controller

The handle pulls out when in neutral for throttle only. Pull at the pivot point

Yep, what he said. :joyous: That said, once you pull the lever out you'll probably still have to "squeeze" the lever at the top of the shift lever to enable you to move it forward.

I had one like that. I put my hand in behind it palm out, and twisted to the right. Lever does have to be straight up.
