New piston tapping ngk plug

89 Force 85HP. I just put in a new piston in #2 and heard a little more rattle than usual.
It's getting quieter with 2 hrs break in. I can clearly see the piston is tapping a little on the plug; NGK BUHX. There's also a little dent on #1 from plug (old piston, 125 compression). Could i add an extra washer to the spark plug?? I've been using ngk for years.

If your plug is hitting you have the wrong plug.NGK or Champion it shouldn't hit.
Is it the perma-gap plug? UL-18V Champion.That's what came with Force as standard equipment.J

Thanks, It's permagap. I found some old champions UL-18V . They are about 1.5 millimeter shorter threads than ngk. I'll try that.
