You will be glad you went Bennington. They're the leader of the pack and have a 7 year warranty nobody else offers. Resale is the tops in the business, and they're a totally customer driven company.

I have an almost 2 year old 24' SSLX tritoon with a 150 hp Yamaha. I'm seeing 40 mph @ 6000 rpms and effortless cruising at 25-30 mph.

If you have any chance of doing water sports, you should consider changing your order to a larger motor. Most everyone eventually wishes they powered their boats with the maximum horsepower allowed--and Day 1 is the time to do it.

Sure is. Our camp is across from what was Greenlee's house and a couple camps up the Nebraska rd. Is pine hollow rd the dirt rd that goes up over the hill there ?

I was told that the 60 hp high trust motor would pull a tube around pretty good. But I dont plan on doing much tubing, It will be used for mostly fishing. I think the 20' pontoon is rated for a 70 hp motor max, I couldn't be wrong

Congratulations, float her in good health. Our Tracker pontoon is about our 4th boat. Definitely swap room for speed, but with kids and grandkids it is well worth it. It is amazing how many floats, sand pails, rafts, squirt guns, kid poles and tackle you can carry and still have enough room to dance and barbeque.

Re: new pontoon

My 24ft pontoon has a 90 hp 2 stroke Merc on it ,There is only the two of us but it's no rocket ship when it comes to towing a raft. When I'm out on the Bay And see another pontooner out there we can catch them pretty easy . The one thing I really don't like abut the bigger pontoons is how hard they steer. My point is go for the maxuim hp rated for the boat. It will cost less now then later. I bought mine used with a 90 hp ,it's rated for a 135.

Re: new pontoon

I have a 2013 Bennington 20SL with a Yamaha 50TL, 25" logs. Should be similar to yours in performance. Best top speed ever recorded on GPS is 21mph but it consistently hits 19-20mph. That's with 3 adults, 1 child, cooler etc. We tube with our 8 year old and for him its fine. He has a blast. Adults and older kids wouldn't have nearly as much fun back there but the younger ones love it.
Ours is rated for 70hp but I spoke with them about that. They could get it certified for 90hp but it would reduce the passenger capacity and load rating. We cruise at about 14-15mph most days. Any faster and the wind noise is so much that a conversation is difficult anyways.
Our lake is pretty big and we may take as long as an hour or two to cruise to another spot to met friends or go to a dock/restaurant. We don't mind taking our time, that's the point.
