Ok - I got my new prop in for my 1975 Merc 115 which i ran into the mud. Pitch and size all OK but internals a lot different than the one I took off. Old one looks like a lot of rubber in it. New has 4 grooves running inside the prop running lengthwise. A collar slips inside the prop hole that has 4 grooves but on the outside. Now I have 4 small springs about the diameter of a ink pen spring but 3x longer. I know these springs slide in to line up the prop and that collar. There is a plastic rod that runs the full length inside each of these small springs. My QUESTION - does that plastic rod stay in the spring when I assemble the prop or is in there to keep the spring from kinking and is to be removed upon assembly? Instructions don't say. Thanks
