I just purchased a new prop for my merc 9.9. 2006. It's a stainless prop. But when I put it on and spin it by hand it seems to wobble.not a lot but I would think it should be perfectly true.Should I bring it back.Or is a little wobble ok.The motor had the original prop till now.If I watch the shaft it looks strait.Any opinions would be appriciated.

I have no experience with this myself, but I seem to have read somewhere on here that new props may wobble a bit, and then straighten themselves out when they're run for a little while and the hub settles straight.

I've never heard of or seen a prop wobble and then clear up after a while.

Re: new prop wobbles

Well, I found the older threads on this that I had read before:

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=184218

Quoting Gary H NC: "I got my new Stiletto prop today. It had a note in the box that said the prop may wobble when first used but it will center itself after running it."

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=162377

Quoting Walleyehed: "If torqued correct, the prop will straighten itself out when running...this is not uncommon on MWC props."

Makes sense to me, especially with a pressed in rubber slip hub, and if anyone knows, Kenny (Walleyehed) surely would.
