I have a 18 ft CC with a 90 Yamaha 2strk on it, it currently has a 17p Aluminum prop. I get 5200 RPM with a full fuel load and 2 people on it which is my normal fishing setup, this gives me around 38mph GPS

I want to get a SS prop and am looking for suggestions. I was thinking about a 15p Michigan Match and was wondering if that would be ok.

Thanks
Rick

Re: New Prop

Sit tight, your prop experts will be right with you. Meanwhile you might go to the www of Michigan Wheel and read over their comments about props, how they work, and what types are available.....like they say, they have been making props for 100 years. Ought to know something about them.

HTH

Mark

Re: New Prop

We take it from your post that youre looking to gain rpm. Thats good, that motor could use some to perform better. Going to a smaller (less) pitch simply to gain rpm is always a last resort.

Lets look at set up before we spend any money. Try raising the motor 1 hole and see how many rpm's you gain on top end. We're really not concerened about venting in high speed turns right now. Just a relation between where the motor is now to somewhere else.

No sense to buy a 15 ss now and the find out you could be more efficient with a 17 ss later. Unless you just want to buy 2 ss props.
