New Prop

I just bought an 18' Alumacraft. It has a Mercury 35hp (86' model) on the back. The prop on it now has a 10.5 pitch on it. The motor sounds like it is screaming and I don't get much speed out of it. What would be a good prop for this boat but keeps me in the WOT range. Thanks.

first you need to figure out what your rpms are right now at WOT with that prop. Do you have a Tach? if not, i suggest buying one because we need to know what your current WOT RPM's are right now. Along with that, we also need to know what the manufacturers max recommended RPM range for that engine is.
