new prop?

I have an older 1971 larson 18" I O merc . with a 120 hp 4 cyl. motor--- in the last several years the power of the motor has weakened--cant pull an adult skiier ot of the water-- Im told a new prop may help ---any advise?

Have you checked to see whats up with the motor.The best thing would be to solve the power drain.Check the compression.If the motor needs work it may be as simple as a valve job.Might turn the whole thing around and give you more years of fun.Boats pretty old could be water logged.For now be
sure it properly tuned
throttle opens all the way.Need to know your prop size,present rpm and speed.would help to know your typical load and activities,to figure a prop change.
