I am getting ready to install a new riser on my 165hp I6. The surface that joins to the exhaust manifold is currently covered with paint. Do I need to sand that down to bare metal before installing???

Thanks!

Re: New riser installation

Ayuh,.....

I prefer to use a Flat File,...
That way it'll clean off the paint,+ you'll know whether they are Totally Flat......
