Hey guys,
I had written in before about my prop issue. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=266511
old (approx.1954) 14' aluminum LONESTAR boat and 1990 15 horse Evinrude motor (that has ultra, super LOW time on it). I bought a new prop from Soderbloom's. It was an aluminum Solas 9-1/4x10 which was advertised as a 9-1/4x10 in one part of the online catalog and 9-1/2x10 in other parts of the catalog including check-out. (I wanted what it came with which was 9-1/2x10) I sent an email and asked about the discrepincy but never got an answer. I ordered because it was a great price and also asked the question since the order page had a place for questions or comments and still no answer.
They did ship it quickly though...
The new prop arrived and I installed it and went out on a lake to test before going off the coast in Niantic,Ct. again. It ran fine, no slipping although the motor didn't seem to move as fast with the smaller prop.
Next day we went to Niantic and launched the boat with My wife, myself and my three kids ages 9 thru 14. The boat ride out was fine and I stayed clear out of the way of the rocks, but on the way back-in at the end of the day, The boat would lose momentum just like before. Is it possible the prop hub (rubber) is spun again. I did not hit anything! There is not a scratch on the prop! I figured because of the extra weight in the boat and a bad NEW prop. I brought it to a lake again a number of days after that with just two people and it did not have the problem!
Has anyone ever had this issue with a new prop? (Solas or other brand?)

It's possible the prop has spun but I have my doubts with a brand new one?
I would scribe(water proof marker) you hub and prop and try another run until it loses momentum again and then your marks, if they are still lined up then you can eliminate that and look for other issues such as lower unit, fuel issue etc. Good Luck.........Irv964
