Hi, I have a new boat and trailer the tire size is ST205/75D-14
F78 X14. It did not come with a spare tire. I am looking around and hope someone here can point me in the direction of a low cost spare. The prices I see around are pretty high like double of a average car tire!! please help! mkunie@verizon.net

Use the F78x14 as a spare. It is not a trailer tire. Get another ST205 for the road.

Re: New Spare Tire help

Look in your yellow pages for a trailer shop. We have one here called Portsmouth trailer and I can buy a trailer tire mounted on a galvanized rim and balanced for about $80. Thats less than half than one of my truck tires. Auto tire stores are higher, I guess because trailer tires aren't their main business. Like Mark said, you can use the F78 for a spare.

Portsmouth Trailer is a great trailer parts vendor. I have had them UPS stuff to me when I rebuilt my last travel trailer's brakes.

If you have a Northern Tool in your area you can get the trailer tire and rim as well as the mounting bracket for a good price.
