GOOD NEWS. . . . The PICTURE UPLOAD FUNCTION IS WORKING !!! The tech folks at the parent company have been able to remedy the issue. You can upload pictures once again. Thank you for your patience.
The current starter is too oxidized to get a serial number. The only thing I can see is a Ford part number for the drive end housing of EIJP-11131-AA. The engine is a 1979 OMC/FORD 351 CID with a part number of 909251. Any help would be appreciated.
Not so sure that is possble. The thing sat in salt water for a little while. Even the rubber parts are coated in rust! The casing is junk. It was going to take it apart to see if I could clean it out or just change the bushings but did not get past removing the lever plunger cover before I realized that it was all wasted.
Hello
in the ARCO electrics book there is a diagram as to telling the rotation of the starter by the slant of the leading edge of the pinion teeth. I dont have my manual here but a call to ARCO should solve your problems.
good luck and keep posting.
Thanks everyone. This is good info. I need to give the engine a tune-up anyway so I will spin the flywheel when I have the plugs out and see which direction the causes the prop spins in forward while in forward gear. If that fails, I am calling Arco!
