Hi again everyone, OK she?s all back together. New Stern Drive, gimbal bearing, all 3 bellows, all new seals (gaskets and O-rings), Marine gear lube and lower shift cable. Now for the break-in time. The material shipped with says to: Start w/low rpm's slowly increasing in rpms up to 3500@5 hours. NOT to exceed 75% throttle. Shift into fwd & rev a minimum of 10 times each. (All at once or over the 5 hours?) Then from 5-10 hours, short bursts of full throttle, throttling back to no more than 75% throttle. Then after 10 hours, begin normal operations. Changing gear lube after 10 but before 20 hours. OK np, however at the risk of sounding like a total noob here, I just want to make absolutely sure. This break in period HAS TO BE in the big pond and NOT on the muffs.......correct????? I?m assuming there has to be resistance on the prop. Any comments on break-in is greatly appreciated . Now I know that the Merc manual is slightly different, but basically the same.

Yes absolutely, load on the drive will be needed in water,

really should not go over say 2K RPM's on muffs.

Good luck with her
