"New" tires wearing badly, making lots of road noise. How to fix?

I had no desire for all-terrains. I got Long-Trail T/As.

Those are a decent tire, but won't get the mileage of the more aggressive A/T's.

I had to settle for less to have more $$$ in bank when they pre-approve for my home loan. I probably should have gotten the home loan THEN buy new tires...:rolleyes:

Goodyear Wrangler SR/A 18" on my truck. I'm at 50K miles now. I think I could have squeezed more miles out of them if I had been a little more diligent about rotating them. I did rotate them, but not as much as I should have. They have worn much more evenly than the Wranglers on my Explorer did. Still, they are a bit noisy.

I am shopping around for a set of Michelins. Thought I'd go ahead and bite the bullet and see what all the big whoop is about.

Those michelins were too steep for my current budget.

But we got financing and signed on our new house yesterday, so now I sorta regret not getting them. :rolleyes:

Well, there is always next time.
