welcome aboard

slow down and add some punctuation. most importantly add spaces and line returns

first, throw the DA@#$%@#$%@#$ foil in the garbage. they have zero benefit other than to empty your wallet. they cause failure to many outdrives

PM a mod and move to the proper Mercruiser forum

every forum has stickies at the top. start reading them

specifically link #15 of this http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engi...ion-for-diyers-an-work-safe-search-version-of you most likely have fuel system woes and changing your prop isnt the cure

3000 RPM is way way too low or RPM

and most importantly, which motor/drive do you have (year and serial number help). if you have the dreaded 3.7 liter 185hp motor, start reading up on the merc 470 and start by going thru all the required updates to keep that turd running

if it is the 470, you should have came to iBoats and asked the opinion on the motor prior to buying it. Run...Forest....Run is the common chant

This is a great place to get the help you seek. In addition to the above, get a coiuple more posts under your belt, and post some photos of your boat. Thousand words...

"new wood floor" typically rings a potential alarm - how are the stringers and transom? Any waterlogged foam, wood, etc giving the boat extra weight?
