new to boating!!!

hi all. ive never had a boat til 3 weeks ago. im very mechanically inclined and good at wiring. i acquired an 81 galaxy HIN GALCDO12M81A. the motor came with it but not in it. boat itself is in good shape. has mercruiser 140 hp 4 cyl with mercruiser outdrive. if anyone has any tips on getting this boat water ready please let me know. i also need to find a wiring diagram. this 81 seems very hard to find any info on. thanks to anyone who replys.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard Lowell,.... Look 'round in the Adults Only section at the top of this forum for Motor, 'n drive Info,...

General boat Info is found/ asked 'bout in the General Boatin', non-motor forum...
The Restoration forum will show ways to Fix the hull,...
'n,.. The Electrical forum, you'll find generic type hull wirin' diagrams, as they're pretty simple, if ya understand DC power...
No way in 'ell you'll find the Specific diagram for that ole hull...

Welcome to iBoats . . .

My tip on getting the boat water ready would be to put the engine in the boat. . . :D

Much of the wiring in a boat is based on the engine. So, if you can get a shop manual for the engine (lots of them online, etc.) then you will get a better sense of how to get everything hooked up.
