Hello everyone, my name is Jeremiah. I recently acquired to boats from my folks, lucky me 2 free boats. Bad thing is they have been sitting for at least 5+ years without tarps through the Iowa winters and summers.

The first boat I am going to restore is a 1974 Silverline... not sure of the model

As you can see the interior needs a complete restore.

My second project will be a 1972 IMP Aztec, I noticed it needs a little fiberglass work and the interior on this one is not so bad... the only thing I really need to do to this one is get new motor in it and clean her up.

Not sure which one to restore first. How hard is to replace a floor on my Silverline if needed?

The main decideing factor may be the boat that is in the best condition over all regardless of how complete, unless you favor one over the other and decide to bring it back into service regardless of it's condition.
Whichever way you decide to go, one or both boats, it's going to take some work and willingness to have a project or projects for at least a period of time and spend some cash in the process.
Sitting five years with no cover, not a good sign that they won't need some repair the eye does'nt see, but you may get lucky! max!

I think the Aztec is a little more complete overall. I put a tarp over it today before the snow comes and a couple boxes of moth balls to keep the rodents away.

Thanks Max!

I think I am going to tackle the Aztec first. then I will tear in to the tri hull. I will definitely do some reading and will post up more pics once I get a chance to work on her.

Thanks John.

back after winter break. I am going to check out the tri hull here in a few days to see if it is worth salvaging. Is there any places I should look at specifically to see if she is worth the time.

I am going to tear up the carpet and cut in to the floor to check things out.

FIRST thing, take your estimated budget and double it, now double it again for the second boat, you might be better off picking one, and selling the other to buy parts for the one your going to rebuild. Take a look at the stringers and the transom, it depends on the type of water your going to frequent, but i personally like the trihulls, more space up top to fish and lounge. the cuddy is better for bigger waters. Its a lot to think about but good luck you will get alot of help from the guys on here but take your time and search old posts, alot of your questions have been answered already.

I have not worked on either of them yet. I am currently trying to sell the IMP, no buyers yet. I am thinking that there is going to be a lot of rotted would as well. I guess I will have to see what I can come up with on Friday, I will post some pics up.
