I have owned boats for the last 10 years - First 8 I ran a 13' whaler (loved it) now I have a 14' Starcraft. I love this boat but I need something with more freeboard (son is ready to come along)-I'm looking for a 15-17 ft boat that I can fish and ski with - I love the layout of the bayliner capri, but am a little gun shy about buying one -I don't want to start another bayliner debate - but I found a early 90's 16 ft capri w/70 hp force ($1200 sweet deal). The hull is very sound -If I buy this boat should I pull the floor and reglass it even if it's not needed - should I just buy a different boat?? HELP

If you are a little handy and can work on the motor yourself (the basic stuff) -- or really, even if you're not -- the $1,200 combo is probably a good gamble. If you find it's more hassle than it's worth to you, you could probably sell it in running condition for about what you are paying. And it could turn out to be a boat that runs as well for you as one you might buy for 10 times that amount.
