Last year I decided to upgrade from cable to hydraulic steering for my Honda 115. Always been on a cable before. Purchased the 150hp rated Vevor kit. Did not get the opportunity to do the upgrade until this year. Come to find out, the way the transom is set up I can't use the cylinder. Too late to return the Vevor package, I found a used SeaStar HC5328-3 unbalanced cylinder online that works for my setup. Installed, purchased SeaStar hydraulic fluid.
Bled the system, motor turns nicely but I keep getting a bubble at the helm after going full lock. I don't see any fluid leaks anywhere. When I go to full lock and hold even pressure it eventually will start to turn almost like there's an internal leak in the cylinder and then I typically get an air bubble. Does it make sense that if there was an intenal leak in the cylinder I'd get a bubble? I would think not? Maybe there is still air in the system somewhere?
