from around the exhaust cover. Looks like it has window screen and red silicone as a gasket. Anything I need to know before taking it off?

I am not sure I will be able to answer the question, as I am a recent buyer myself. But I have been working on mine reconditioning it and I MAY need to know some of this as well. If you can post a picture of what you are talking about I am sure it will help people understand the part you are talking about and help us future guys that may go down that same road soon?

The exhaust chests cover can be a tricky B&^%$!!
The bottom screws on the cover are1/4-/20 and can twist off just by touching them.
The heat and water corrode them and the screws get stuck and weaken.
I start with WD or PB Blaster. PB is usually best.
Spray and using a small torch, heat and tap with a small hammer.
Then repeat a few times.4 at least.
Then try turning 1/16th of a turn out then right back in.
Tap and heat and spray again.
I've worked over an hour on 2 screws and one still twisted off.
GO SLOW!!!!

Don't use a 1/2 drive ratchet, use small, light 1/4" drive or very light small wrenches.
Less chance breaking them off.....
