new to me boat. Questions?

Bringing my new to me boat home, Its a 1986 bayliner with the Volvo 5.0 engine and volvo 275 out drive. I want to change the engine oil, what weight oil does it need for the engine?
Next, i want to change the transmission oil and whatever other oil the drive has. Can anyone tell me how to do that and what type oil the transmission and drive needs? Sorry for the questions, new boat owner.. I work on cars but never messed with boats.

well, my computer wont download any of the manuals, dont know whats wrong. can anyone help and tell me what weight oil the 5.0 engine takes and also what weight oil the drive takes and how to change the drive oil?

Read the sticky at this forum, ull find answers to those questions. Nobody will tell u exactlly what to do if you dont take some time and read.

I have looked. could you at least tell me how to find the 'AQ' number on the volvo 275? Ive searched the thing over and there is no more numbers pr badges anywhere with this info. I would really like to change the engine oil and drive oil so i can use my new boat..

Being a 5.0L, it's either an AQ225D,E,or F

I went ahead and downloaded it from Volvo for you, since that site can be a little crazy at times.

Thanks Don, im still trying. Its my computer, it keeps crashing while using any PDF file..
anyways, when looking up info on my out drive, do i just look it up by 275 or do i still need to use the 'aq' numbers? Not sure if the aq numbers are the engine and the 275 is the drive or what..Like is said, all i know is that its a 5.0l engine and the outdrive says 275 on it, no other ID plates anywhere that i can find.

Is it crashing or taking a while to load? It doesn't load instantly, it's 5.6MB.

Or you may have to upgrade your Adobe reader

Don, I got it downloaded but it does not list what oil for the engine or drive for the aq225e, it listed it for all the others covered in the download except the one i need. can you help me out and tell me what oil to use in the engine and drive? also, when changing the drive oil, do you have to pump the new oil in through the bottom drain like you do a mercruiser or can you fill it through the dipstick hole at the top?
